Man Captured on Dashcam Shooting Vehicle in Eustis Identified and Arrested

EUSTIS, Florida—The man captured on dashcam video shooting the trunk of a vehicle earlier this month has been identified and arrested, according to Eustis Police Sgt. Paul Barnett.

Kenneth R. Brown, 21, of Winter Garden, was arrested Friday at Eustis Police Department for the incident that occurred on Grove Street Aug. 1. Police say the victim was driving northbound on Grove Street when a group of people were crossing the road. The victim honked at the group and as the victim drove away, Brown fired a single shot at the vehicle and struck the trunk. The victim was not injured. The incident was captured on the victim’s dashcams.

Brown had a “flimsy defense,” Barnett told Inside Lake, and he was arrested for shooting a deadly missile into an occupied vehicle, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm in public and criminal mischief. He was transported to the Lake County Jail where he is being held on $15,000 bond, according to Barnett.

Police identified all the individuals captured on the video, but the others are considered witnesses. “It was good work by the guys and gals that work here,” Barnett said.
