TAVARES, Fla.—A Eustis man turned himself in Friday in connection with the fatal shooting of a Leesburg man Sunday.

Edwin Hypolite Francillon, 34, was taken into custody at the Lake County Jail around 10:15 a.m. on charges of manslaughter with a firearm and aggravated battery with a firearm, according to the Tavares Police Department.

Police responded to Caroline Court Apartments, 1000 East Caroline Street around 2:20 a.m. Sunday, after a caller reported a man had been shot. Police said McKnight was outside the front door of a residence when a vehicle entered the complex and two individuals approached him. McKnight was shot, and the pair fled in the vehicle.

On Wednesday, police arrested Jonathan Louis Erickson on two accessory-after-the-fact charges, one a second-degree felony and the other a third-degree felony.

The probable cause affidavit is sealed, police said Friday, and additional details about Francillon’s alleged role were not released. The investigation is ongoing.
