Law enforcement recruit dies during first night of class, Tavares police say

TAVARES, Fla.— Tavares Police Department is investigating the death of a law enforcement recruit who suffered a medical emergency Monday night. “Morlon Jenkins, 42, experienced a medical emergency during the first night of the Florida Law Enforcement Academy at the Institute of Public Safety, a campus of Lake Technical College in Tavares,” TPD Det. Courtney Sullivan said in an email.
