Police release identity of woman killed in Eustis hit-and-run

EUSTIS, Fla. — Police have released the identity of the woman killed on Lakeshore Drive Friday morning.

Tracy Schievenin, 48, was riding a bicycle southbound on Lakeshore Drive, approaching the intersection of Eustis Road when she was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle, according to Eustis Police Department.

The unknown vehicle fled the scene and Schievenin was later found deceased, EPD said.

The investigation closed a portion of Lakeshore Drive for nearly seven hours. It was the second closure of the road this week; authorities shut it down Monday for several hours due to a washout before reopening it after repairs were completed.

If you have information on the hit-and-run that killed Schievenin, call EPD at 352-483-5400, Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS, or email CID@eustis.org. Crimeline callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
