DeLAND, Fla.— The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a teenager accused of shooting his sister’s boyfriend near DeLand.
Jordan Furber, 17, is accused of shooting Euhari Gordon Wednesday morning, shortly before noon, according to a report obtained by Inside Lake.
LCSO responded to a report of a shooting at 42215 Dogwood Avenue in the DeLand portion of Lake County and found Gordon sitting outside in a chair, suffering from two gunshot wounds with both entry and exit wounds, the report states. Three people, including his girlfriend, Renique Leopold, were providing aid.
The deputy assessed Gordon’s injuries and Lake County EMS arrived on scene and advised that Gordon would be airlifted to an area hospital for treatment. The deputy was only able to get limited information from Gordon as he struggled to stay conscious, “obviously in pain,” the deputy noted in the report. Gordon was last reported to be in stable condition.
After Gordon was transported from the scene, Leopold told the deputy her younger brother shot Gordon and fled the area barefoot, wearing a black and white hoodie, and carrying a pair of shoes. Deputies and LCSO’s helicopter searched the area but did not locate him.
No information has been released regarding Furber’s motive for the shooting. A juvenile pick-up order — equivalent to an adult arrest warrant — has been issued for Furber. If you know his whereabouts, call LCSO at 352-343-2101.
