CLERMONT, Florida — “Legends has not seen anything yet and just wait,” a man who repeatedly threatened to kill his neighbor told a Clermont Police officer on his way to jail over the holiday weekend, according to an arrest affidavit.
On Saturday, CPD responded to a home on Legendary Boulevard after the victim reported Daniel L. Boyan, 63, his neighbor, was threatening to kill him— again. The victim said Boyan’s behavior was becoming “too much” and explained that Boyan was driving past his home daily and yelling obscenities and just a few days prior a verbal altercation turned physical when Boyan pushed the victim. The victim called police after the altercation, but declined to press charges, according to the affidavit.
During Saturday’s incident, Boylan got out of his vehicle and began waving his arms and yelling at the victim’s son. “Go get your father, I am going to kill your father. I am going to kill him with my bare hands. I am going to show you what a real criminal looks like,” Boyan reportedly said.
The victim’s son ran inside and told his father, causing the victim to fear for his family’s safety. Boyan drove past the victim’s house multiple times yelling he was going to kill him or have someone else do it, the victim told police. The victim also said Boyan had somehow found out where his daughter attended school, causing him concern. The victim called CPD, and neighborhood security and security officers captured Boyan on video calling the victim names and shouting obscenities, the affidavit states. A security officer told police they get multiple calls about Boyan yelling obscene remarks, particularly to the victim in this case.
CPD officers went to Boyan’s home, and he said he felt great and had some “weed” for the first time in a while. He then became agitated and began yelling about Jewish people and Sept. 11; he was placed under arrest for aggravated stalking and assault and became “extremely irate,” the arresting officer noted. On the ride to the Lake County Jail, Boyan stated, “Legends has not seen anything yet and just wait,” along with asking the officer if the officer wanted to shoot him and stating he would shoot his dog if he wanted to. He then asked if they were going to Twistee Treat— a local ice cream stand.
Boyan was booked into LCJ, where he is being held on $10,500 bond.
