Eustis, Leesburg men killed in separate out-of-county crashes

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — Two Lake County men were killed Friday in separate crashes in Marion and Hillsborough counties, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Around 6 a.m., a 42-year-old Eustis man was driving a pickup truck southbound on Interstate 75 when he drifted across all three lanes and struck a guardrail near mile marker 366 in Marion County, FHP said. The pickup overturned, ejecting the driver into the northbound lanes. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. FHP searching for suspect who carjacked Groveland man on I-75

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla.— The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man who carjacked a Groveland man on Interstate 75 early Friday morning. Around 2 a.m. Friday, a 38-year-old-old Groveland man, working as a supervisor for American Medical Response (AMR,) found a crashed pickup truck on the southbound I-75 exit ramp to westbound Interstate 4. Paisley Man Killed on I4 in Hillsborough County Saturday Night

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla.—A pedestrian from Paisley was killed Saturday night when he was struck by minivan on Interstate 4, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. A Toyota Sienna, being driven by a 59-year-old Sarasota man, was traveling westbound on I4 near McIntosh Road, just after 8:15 p.m. when the Paisley man, 24, walked across the highway and into the path of the minivan for an unknown reason, FHP Sgt. Steve Gaskins said. “As a result, the vehicle struck the pedestrian, who suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash,” Gaskins said in an email.
