Possible gas explosion in Eustis sends one to the hospital

EUSTIS, Fla.—Authorities are investigating possible gas explosion that sent one person to the hospital, according to Eustis Police Department Chief Craig Capri. Details were limited Thursday morning at press time; Capri told Inside Lake one person was transported to an area hospital, following the possible gas explosion at 101 South Eustis Street. The person’s name and condition were not released. This is a developing story.

VIDEO: New Year’s Eve explosion rocks neighbors near Mount Dora, sends resident to the hospital

MOUNT DORA, Fla.—A home was reduced to rubble and trapped a resident New Year’s Eve night after an explosion in unincorporated Mount Dora, a neighbor told Inside Lake. The home on West Main Street in Mount Dora Estates, formerly known as Riley’s Park, “exploded,” around 9:30 p.m. with the resident inside, according to a neighbor, Jeremy Jenkins. The man was initially trapped by rubble and debris but was able to get out and he was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
