FHP On Scene of Fatal Crash

OKAHUMPKA, Florida— The intersection of County Road 470 and County Road 33 in Okahumpka is shut down due to a fatal crash that occurred around 8:45 a.m. Sunday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash involves a 2021 semi-truck and a 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander; the passenger in the Outlander was killed, FHP Lt. Tara Crescenzi said.

The driver of Outlander, a 33-year-old Bradenton man, was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries and the driver of the semi, a 43-year-old man of Brandon, was not injured.

Troopers are on scene investigating the crash and cleaning up diesel fuel.
