EUSTIS, Fla. — A Eustis father previously arrested on allegations he helped his teenage son evade law enforcement after a DeLand double murder was booked into the Lake County Jail Tuesday on an ammunition charge.
Daytron Winston Etkins, 41, is charged with possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. He was released on $10,000 bond.
According to a probable cause affidavit, detectives found 36 rounds of ammunition while searching his Bates Avenue home in August.

A Ruger handgun box containing nine .44 Magnum rounds and three .40 Smith & Wesson rounds was found in a storage room, and a Phoenix Arms handgun box containing 24 .22-caliber rounds was found in a hallway closet beside the primary bedroom, the affidavit states.
Etkins was the only person home during the search, and he was identified as the primary resident. A criminal history check showed four prior felony convictions in Orange County, according to the affidavit, which was signed Oct. 13.

Etkins was previously arrested Aug. 7 on a charge of accessory after the fact, accused of helping his 17-year-old son, Keyan Rundell, evade law enforcement. He was released from the Volusia County Jail on $100,000 bond in September.
Rundell was arrested on two counts of second-degree murder in the shooting deaths of Dustin Rose and Samson Campbell, who were found July 29 at a vacant industrial property in DeLand.
Rundell is being prosecuted as an adult and has pleaded not guilty, according to Volusia County court records.
