MOUNT DORA, Fla. — The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was shot twice Saturday morning in unincorporated Mount Dora.
Shortly after 8:45 a.m. Saturday, deputies and officers with Mount Dora Police Department responded to 30203 Cheval Street on a report of a verbal dispute. When law enforcement arrived, they found a man had been shot twice by the homeowner, LCSO Deputy Stephanie Earley said.
Deputies determined the man is currently going through a divorce with a female resident of the home. Investigators said he knocked and banged on the front door and windows before entering through an unlocked sliding glass door.
He then kicked in the homeowner’s bedroom door and was shot twice, Earley said.
“The male subject was awake and breathing and was transported to the hospital for further treatment,” Earley said.
No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing and no names have been released, Earley said.
