EUSTIS, Fla. — A fatal motorcycle crash has closed Calhoun Road near Eustis, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Around 5:30 p.m., a 59-year-old Umatilla man was driving a 2016 Ford F-150 northbound on Calhoun Road when he attempted to make a left turn onto Kine Drive, FHP Lt. Tara Crescenzi said.
The Ford turned into the direct path of a motorcycle being ridden by a man who had not been identified at press time. The motorcycle collided with the right side of the Ford, and the impact caused it to hit a 2023 Ram ProMaster 3500 van driven by a 50-year-old Clermont man, Crescenzi said.
The motorcyclist was transported to AdventHealth Waterman in Tavares, where he was pronounced deceased. The drivers of the pickup truck and the van were not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
