FRUITLAND PARK, Fla.—Fruitland Park Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a vehicle with several bullet holes and its driver with a graze wound.
Around 10:40 p.m. Friday, FPPD responded to U.S. Highway 27/441 and Register Road on a report of a shooting. The investigation revealed two vehicles, a black 2012 Mazda sedan and an unknown vehicle were traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 27/441 in different lanes. Several shots were fired from the unknown vehicle, striking the Mazda several times on the left side and grazing the driver, FPPD said.
The driver of the Mazda was transported to an area hospital, treated and released. The victim’s name was not released.
The occupants of the Mazda were not able to provide a description of the vehicle or suspect(s) to police and said they did not provoke the shooter(s.) If you have information, call FPPD at 352-360-6655.
