CLERMONT, Fla.—An Orlando man is dead, and a Windermere man was seriously injured in an early morning, wrong-way crash near Clermont, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A witness told troopers a 2019 Audi Q5 was speeding southbound on U.S. Highway 27 near Frank Jarrell Road and then began traveling south in the northbound inside lane, shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday. It crashed head-on into a 2021 Toyota Camry, killing the driver, a 28-year-old Orlando man. The driver of the Audi, a 22-year-old Windermere man, was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center in serious condition, FHP said. The crash remains under investigation.
