Woman Stabs 2 People Sunday, Both Victims Airlifted

ALTOONA, Florida—A woman who told Lake County Sheriff’s Office detective she found the largest knife she could and “I never said it was self-defense” was arrested Mother’s Day for two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after stabbing two people, according to an arrest affidavit.

Shortly after 3:15 p.m. Sunday, LCSO responded to 20304 Green Wing Road in reference to a stabbing and found a large butcher knife with a blue handle, blood, and two victims; a female with a stab wound to her back and a man with a stab would to his left bicep, according to the affidavit. The woman was airlifted to Central Florida Regional Medical Center in Sanford and the man was airlifted to Ocala Regional Medical Center in Ocala for treatment.

LCSO detectives responded to the scene and to both hospitals to interview the involved parties and on scene found multiple areas of blood near a hot tub in the yard. A witness told LCSO she made prior arrangements with her daughter, Cheyenne Dawn Kee, 23, to retrieve the hot tub that was left at the home and earlier that day she requested the two stabbing victims to help her move the hot tub.

The two victims were loading the hot tub on a trailer when Kee showed up and was “visibly upset, shaking and yelling,” and asking why people were taking her hot tub, the affidavit states.

Kee’s mother told her the victims were just there to help and Kee began arguing with the female victim and her mother stepped in to separate them. Kee’s mother then got in her vehicle to leave, and she heard the male victim yell that he was bleeding. She rendered aid to the man and said he had a “significant” amount of blood coming from his bicep, the affidavit states.

Kee was interviewed by detectives and said she went inside the allow the pair the get the hot tub and while she was inside, she heard her mother and the female victim, “talking about her.” She went outside and argued with her mother and the woman, and her shirt was ripped during the altercation, and she claimed her mother punched her. Kee said she went inside to change and retrieved the largest knife she could find, went outside and stabbed the female victim in the back while she was loading to hot tub. The male victim tried to help the woman and Kee stabbed him too, according to the affidavit.

Kee acknowledged neither victim threatened her and reportedly said, “I never said it was self-defense.”

Kee was taken into custody and arrested for two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon; she is being held in the Lake County Jail on $20,000 bond.
