Man Found Alive After 2-Day Search Effort at Alexander Springs

ALTOONA, Florida—The man who went missing during a canoe trip Easter Sunday has been found alive, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Davidson Anjab. 39, was reported missing after a canoe overturned; the two men Anjab was with were able to get back into the canoe and Anjab swam to shore and said he would walk back. He was reported missing when he failed to meet his party.

LCSO and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officers found Anjab while they were searching on foot, LCSO Lt. John Herrell said. He was found one-tenth of a mile from the shoreline where he was last seen. He is dehydrated and the search party is rendering aid, Herrell said. LCSO is currently making plans to extract him.
