Purple Alert canceled, missing man found in Leesburg
Update: 9:45 p.m. Mark Lang has been found safe at Gateway Plaza in Leesburg, according to LPD. Lt. Shannon Walsh.
LEESBURG, Fla.—Leesburg Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing man.
A Purple Alert has been issued for Mark Lang, 64, who is described as a white male, 125 pounds, 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt with a fishing design, black dress pants and black Skechers shoes. He walks with a stagger that may cause him to drag his legs. Lang may be driving a white 2015 Nissan Rogue, license plate 05ARHB, with numerous stickers on the rear windshield and rear fender, including a Star Trek sticker and a Florida Panthers sticker. The Nissan also has a dent in the area of the driver’s side headlight.
A Florida Purple Alert is used to assist in the location of missing adults suffering from a mental or cognitive disability, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. (FDLE.)
