LEESBURG, Fla.—The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has identified the man found deceased in Lake Harris Friday. Thomas “Tommy” Griffin, of Leesburg took his jon boat out on Lake Harris Thursday night and it was discovered empty around 9 a.m. Friday, FWC Officer Chad Weber told Inside Lake Saturday.  FWC and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to Singletary Park on South 14th Street in Leesburg and began searching for Griffin.  Around 7:30 pm. LEESBURG, Fla.—The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is investigating the death of a man found in Lake Harris in Leesburg Friday. Around 9 a.m. Friday, someone reported finding an unattended boat, and FWC and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded and began searching, FWC Officer Chad Weber told Inside Lake. Authorities spent the day searching the area near Singletary Park on South 14th Street in Leesburg. Around 7:30 pm., LCSO’s helicopter, Eagle One, found the man deceased, according to Weber.
