Lady Lake motorcyclist killed after driver runs stop sign in Hernando County

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a Lady Lake man Saturday afternoon.

Shortly before 1:30 p.m., a 50-year-old Brooksville man was driving a Toyota Camry northbound on Jasmine Drive when he ran a stop sign at Mondon Hill Road near Brooksville, according to FHP.

A 60-year-old Lady Lake man riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound on Mondon Hill Road struck the Toyota.

Both men were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries. The motorcyclist later died, FHP said.
