SORRENTO, Fla. — The investigation into the body found near State Road 46 Wednesday morning has been turned over to the Florida Highway Patrol, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Around 7:15 a.m., LCSO received a report of a body found in a grassy area along State Road 46 near State Road 29 and Sleepy Bear Lane, LCSO Deputy Stephanie Earley said.
Deputies and Lake EMS/Fire Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced the unnamed person deceased, Earley said. Detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the scene, and the investigation was later turned over to FHP.
FHP had not responded to Inside Lake’s request for additional details at press time.
