Villager killed after crashing motorcycle into tree in Sumter County

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol in investigating a motorcycle crash that killed a man Friday evening.

The 67-year-old man of The Villages was riding a Kawasaki Ninja 500 eastbound on Woodridge Drive when he lost control and ran off the road, shortly after 6 p.m., FHP said.

The motorcycle hit a tree, and the man was pronounced deceased on the scene.
