Tavares transforms into Winter Wonderland Saturday with parade and holiday festivities

TAVARES, Fla.— Downtown Tavares will transform into a Winter Wonderland late Saturday afternoon beginning with the city’s annual Christmas parade and celebration.

The parade begins at 5 p.m. on Main Street at Sinclair Avenue; it will travel south to Ruby Street, turn east and continue to St. Clair Abrams Avenue and then north back to Main Street, and finally west back to Sinclair Avenue. Inside Lake will join the parade, tossing plenty of candy, and a few fun surprises along the way. Don’t be shy! Give us a big “hi!” when you see us go by!

After the parade, attendees can experience a full lineup of seasonal fun and entertainment, including live performances, “ice” skating, photo opportunities, snowstorms, and a towering Christmas tree that lights up the heart of downtown. Families can also enjoy a holiday movie in the park, food vendors, and a variety of activities designed to spark Christmas joy.

And keep on eye on the sky; Santa Claus will swoop in by seaplane at 7 p.m., touching down just in time to spread holiday cheer throughout the night with special appearances.
